This archived Custom by Z design featured a natural round diamond with an F color grade and Flawless clarity at the center. Two round side diamonds, approximately 0.50 carat each, completed the three-stone arrangement in an 18-karat white-gold setting.
What Flawless clarity means
Flawless, abbreviated FL, is the highest grade on the GIA clarity scale. It means a skilled grader did not see inclusions or blemishes when examining the diamond under 10× magnification under the prescribed conditions. Flawless diamonds are rare, but clarity is only one part of a diamond’s overall appearance and value.
Where F color fits on the scale
On GIA’s D-to-Z color scale, D, E, and F are in the colorless range. An F-color diamond can present a bright, icy appearance, especially in white gold or platinum. The setting style, diamond shape, lighting, and neighboring stones can all influence how color appears to the eye.
