Laboratory-grown diamonds have essentially the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as natural diamonds, but their origin is different. Since October 2025, GIA’s D-to-Z laboratory-grown diamond assessment uses Premium or Standard categories rather than its natural-diamond color and clarity terminology.
